Amend the Immigration Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and

consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1.

Short title, comencement and application

(1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Immigration (Amendment)

Sedlmance 1991.

(2) Subject to subsection (3), section 2(3) shall be deemed to have come into operation on 16 June 1988.

(3) Nothing in subsection (2) shall affect any legal proceedings commenced before [

1 1991 in respect of which

any non-compliance with the Immigration Ordinance (Cap. 115) has

Lécu expressly put in issue before that date.

Detention pending decision as to permission to remain in Hong Kong, or pending removal from Hong Kong

section 13D(1) of the Immigration Ordinance (Cap. 115) is

repealed and the following substituted

"(1)

As from 2 July 1982 any person who

(a)

in the opinion of an immigration officer is a

Lesigent or former resident of Vietnam;
