already served his term of imprisonment for more than 8 years and yet can see no end to it.

When Lam Wai-Ho committed the offence, he was not yet 18. With the limitations in mind, maturity and age, he was unable to appraise the seriousness of the consequences of committing an offence. However, the excuse of innocence of a youth is, we are afraid, unable to exempt him from liability. As the next of kin of Lam Wai-Ho, we also feel deep resentment towards the offence he had committed. Of the trauma suffered in mind and body by the family members of the victim, we

we also express deeply our regret and sadness. However, we understand that tears cannot alter the reality. It has been said that bygones are bygones but the future can still be pursued. Therefore, if you can give Lam Wai- Ho the hope of a new life, we shall, as far as is possible under various circumstances, give him the fullest support, so that he can make contributions to society and give positive returns to the human society.

Our family sincerely requests that you do review the case of Lam Wai-Ho, on the principles of humanitarianism, to give him a definite term of imprisonment and to let him receive a new life as well as to give the whole family the joy of a reunion. Your great kindness and great virtues will forever remain in our hearts, and they will never be forgotten.

Thank you!
