The deceased by then was lying on the floor, and as he lay on the

ground CHAN chopped the deceased twice. The situation was chaotic and

neither WCNG Yik-fum nor CHAN Kan-sau were identified as holding

weapons, although one witness said that they were making thrusting

movements with their arms towards the deceased. An unidentified

member of this gang was also seen to put a knife into a jacket pocket

afterwards.

After the struggle all five of these men fled the scene in

the sama car.

MEDICAL EVIDENCE

It was common ground that the deceased died fram loss of

blood caused by multiple stab wounds inflicted that evening. He had

received 9 stab wounds, 2 chop wounds and 2 large weals where he had been

struck ca the back with the blunt edge of a knife.

The stab wounds were caused by at least two different

sized knives. The nine stab wounds varied in depth from 25 mm (just

over 1 inch) to 200 ma (almost 8 inches). Only 3 wounds were less

than 55 mm (21⁄2 inches) and three were 100 mm or deeper (almost 4 inches).

Cae stab wound' was in the right cheek of the face. Three were on the

back. Four were frontal wounds and one was on the thigh (200 mm).

One of the chop wounds had cut through the wrist severing the tendons

the other cut the left shoulder exposing the bone at the head of the

left arm. The two most serious wounds were one to the chest which entered

the lung and the other the thigh.
