For the most part the draft Hong Kong: Australia Services Agreement (ASA) follows the text of other Hong Kong ASAS which have been shown to the Chinese side. There are, however, a few differences and the following brief explanation may

Tariffs

Article 7(10)

This is a new provision included at the request of the Australian side. It allows a designated airline to formally withdraw from applying an approved tariff to its own services. However, such action will not affect the entitlement of the other designated airline or airlines to apply the tariff as approved.

Article 12

The Australian side considered it would be useful to give some explanation of how the provisions of paras. 2 and 4 could be applied in practice. We had no objection to this proposal and agreed to include the additional wording proposed by the Australian side.

Airport Charges - Article 13

The Australian side felt that Charges" was unnecessary since,
