1. We have been asked again by Hong Kong (telegram, attached) for comments on the two remaining papers covering:

(a) Convention on the Law of Trusts (Hague 1984);

(b) Protocol on Arbitration Clauses

(Geneva Protocol 1923);

(c) Conventions on the Execution of Foreign Arbitral

Awards (Geneva Convention 1927);

(d) Convention on the Registration and Enforcement of

Foreign Arbitral Awards (New York Convention 1958).

We spoke on this some two weeks ago and, if I remember correctly, the current state of play is that you were happy with the Convention on the Law of Trusts, but canvassing more widely on Arbitration.

I would like to send at least a holding reply to Hong Kong, although preferably something more substantial, and so would be grateful for a steer. My predecessor, Mr Sainty, also left some documents on these subjects which need to be faxed to Hong Kong once a telegram has issued.
