Dear Sir,

I have pleasure in informing you that at its 246th Session (May-June 1990) the Governing Body of the International Labour Office accepted with gratitude the generous offer of the Government of Thailand to host the Eleventh Asian Regional Conference of the International Labour Organisation. The Conference will accordingly be held in Bangkok from Tuesday, 26 November, to Monday, 2 December 1991.

The agenda of the Conference is given below, together with some particulars of the composition and procedure of the Conference.

1. Agenda of the Conference

At the same session the Governing Body decided that the agenda of the Eleventh Asian Regional Conference should comprise the Director-General's Report to the Conference covering the following two

technical subjects:

1. Growth and structural adjustment in the Asian region: the challenge for employment and training in the 1990s, it being understood that the chapter devoted to this subject should also include a discussion of reorienting vocational training systems and of the promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises.

2.

Improving occupational safety and health.

Apart from the two technical subjects the Director-General's Report will also cover two standing items (review of ILO activities in Asia and the Pacific and the situation of international labour standards in the region).
