Currently, 21 Hong Kong companies operate a total of

routes from different parts in Hong Kong to destinations

in Guangdong and Fujian. A combined daily total of up to

119 crossings on weekdays and 127 crossings during weekends

and public holidays are made through the crossing points at

Sha Tau Kok, Man Kam To and, since 8 August 1991, Lok Ma

Chau.

All existing cross border coach operators are

domiciled in Hong Kong, i.e. they are companies registered

under Hong Kong law, although some

of them such as the

China Travel Service (HK) Limited are

wholly or partly

owned by Chinese interests.
