1. The Governor telephoned from Heathrow Airport to ask that you send a telegram to Hong Kong from him, strictly personal for acting Governor, copied to Peking, strictly personal for Ambassador. It should refer to the last telegram the Governor sent about the visit to Peking by Mr Allen Lee, and should read as follows:
"Rita Fan told me yesterday, and Allen Lee confirmed at Kai Tak, that the plan for them to visit Peking in August has now been postponed. I asked Allen Lee to be in touch with you or the PA if the plan is revived."
