Democrats of Hong Kong states that on public security they

wish to "increase co-operation between China and Hong Kong

and make all efforts to stop cross border criminal

activities, prevent the smuggling of goods and fire arms".

There is in addition an argument against HMG becoming involved in these cases. If Ministers have put their chop

on a particular case, it drags us in; much more so than if

Hong Kong is simply implementing a local policy which they

have a need for.
