ABOLITION OF THE DEATH PENALTY IN HONG KONG
Dear Sir
The Irish Section of Amnesty International warmly welcomes the decision of the Legislative Council not to recommend the Hong Kong government to resume executions.
We thank all the concerned members of LEGCO and of the public for their principled effort to ensure that the death penalty is formally abolished in Hong Kong.
We urge the government of Hong Kong to ensure that a bill providing for abolition is submitted to LEGCO for adoption as soon as possible.
Yours sincerely
Jin Loughan
