Dear Dr Sham,

Visas for France

Our London Office has passed your letter of 3 May to me, because my schedule covers immigration policy.

The requirement for Hong Kong British passport holders to obtain visas in order to visit France has long been a cause for concern to the Hong Kong Government.. We have tried to persuade the French Government to lift this requirement. So far we have been unable to do so, but we will continue to seek opportunities to try again.

We are also seeking visa waiver

agreements with other countries. As you will

appreciate, that is likely be a lengthy process and progress will vary from country to country.

Yours sincerely,

/

!
