25th November 1991

Further to Vicky Clarke's telephone conversation with you this afternoon, listed below are details as requested.

The company 1 represent are Metal Bulletin plc, specialised magazine publishers and conference organisers. We are holding an Asian Metals & Steel Conference at the Regal Meridien Hotel in Hong Kong on 27th-29th November 1991. Two important delegates at the conference are from a very large organisation in China called Minmetals.

The two gentlemen's names are Qin Qing Sheng (passport no. P0070472) and Zhong Jia Jie (passport no. P0070473). The two gentlemen applied for their visas at the British Embassy in Beijing. I am not sure how long ago the visas were applied for, but think it has been longer than 28 days.

I would be grateful if you could send a telegram to the Hong Kong Immigration office and find out whether the visas have been issued, and, it not whether it would be possible to provide the gentlemen with visas in time for them to attend the conference on Wednesday. If the visas have been issued, could they contact the British Embassy in Beijing to let them know. I would be grateful if you could keep me up to date on the situation.

Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

Henry Cooke Editor
