8. Powers of the Corporation
(1) The Corporation may do all such things as are in the
opinion of the Board necessary or expedient for the carrying out of
its objects or the performance of its duties under this Ordinance or
for the performance of any function assigned to it under any other
Ordinance.
(2) Without prejudice to the generality of subsection (1) the
Corporation may -
(a)
(b)
acquire, hold and dispose of property of any
description;
employ such persons as it thinks fit, either on a
full-time or part-time basis, at such remuneration
and on such terms and conditions of service as it
thinks fit;
(c) engage persons on secondment from any other employer
on such terms and conditions as it thinks fit;
(a) engage under contracts for services such

professional, technical or other persons as it
considers necessary or expedient to carry out the
objects of the Corporation (or any functions
incidental thereto) and on such terms and conditions
as it thinks fit;
make or provide ex gratia payments to any employee,
or to the personal representative of a deceased
employee or to any other person who was dependent on
such employee at his death;
(f) provide appropriate amenities for its members and
employees;
