details. But impossible to stop a decent journalist from trying particularly in an

interview the day before the talks. The attached copy of FCO/Peking telno 520 pulls together the various statements and points we have made and can be safely drawn on.

There is no briefing for diplomatic correspondents on Fridays and I have therefore reserved our press conference room for the interviews. As agreed I will accompany you.
