Peter Dobbie political correspondent of the Mail on Sunday told me yesterday of his (and his editor's) continuing sense of alarm about the prospects for Hong Kong. He also repeated his misgivings about HMG's policy towards China being too indulgent. was particularly exercised about the lack of any serious protest about the sentences handed down to students recently (particularly the second batch, who received heavier sentences).
