When I was in Hong Kong earlier in the year with Richard Luce, we had the opportunity to meet representatives of the Assocition of Expatriate Civil Servants of Hong Kong, and discussed with them some of their main concerns.
Needless to say, pensions featured high on their agenda, and since our visit, we have seen continuing fluctuations in the value of the Hong Kong dollar against Sterling, and as a result, a fall in the value of pensions paid to retired officers in the UK.
I have now received from Peter Leeds, the Chairman of the Pen- sionable Service Committee of AECS a letter, a copy of which I attach, and on which I would welcome your comments.
