2. I appreciate that these are complex issues, having considerable potential financial implications. Mr Cox's letter made clear that we consider these issues must be tackled now. This has been reinforced following the Prime Minister's visit to Hong Kong The Senior Unofficial Member of the Executive Council Baroness Dunn, raised the concerns of HMOCS members with the Prime Minister when he met the Hong Kong Executive Council. The Prime Minister said that he accepted

of pensions and that/the aim should be to reassure people in good time so that the morale and efficiency of the civil service was not affected. c-D
3. We also know that the new HMOCS Association in Hong Kong is gearing up for their first full meeting in October, when They expect six to seven hundred HMOCS members to attend.
