question when he entered the civil service (unless the Civil Service Department expressly agree otherwise);
(iv) for the purposes of calculating a marriage gratuity under
rule 3.42;
(v) to absences or leave in the United Kingdom, or to absences or leave of more than one month in any period of 12 months spent outside the United Kingdom, whether or not in one of the places listed in appendix 6.
2.31 For each completed year of actual service (established or unestablished) to which rule 2.29 applies, the retiring age of the civil servant in question is reduced by three months, though not so as to reduce it below 55.
