RELOTIONS FROM CURLCO MEMBRIS ON ALSPORT :

MARIA TAM:

It is encouraging to see XXXXXX**X**X*X** the Chinees and British, Government have coem together to thrash out en agreementwhich will enable the airport core project to go ahead. I hope in the future they will also put their hearte together and work for the best mutual bonefit butputting HK interest first. I think it is essential to have that attitude so that the zgreement works. There was no rentier of the work (consideration) in the agreement.

Cheng Kon-kwent

I am happy that the two sides can teach en aggement which would be importan to MX's long-term interest. It also shows that both sides have shom autuel trust, and mutual understanding in the talks. I feel that we can obtain China's cecperation which is in line with the Joint Declaration, I feel the Government has done very well for the people of HK. I° 15 2 happy news for the private sector, especially the engineers and those related to construction, as they can all join together in building up the infrastructura of I. The agreement does not in anyway weaken the administrative power of the FK Government.

ANDREW WONG: Land exciting ★

It is an encouraging views and a very good arrangement. KILA It does not affect 's administrative power before and after 1997. The airport committee is only a consultative body without any decision making power, therefore it does not affect with K's decision, Nevertheless, it can μ¤ provide moze diversify views to the authority. * AB on the point that K people are not consulted, I think it is a catter for the British and Chinese Govermenta to HEURIK settle their differences It is a XXX project which straddles 1997, I think it is right for the British and Chinese Governments have raised concern about it and Settled their differences and come to satisfactory agreement. I think HK people cught to to please about the outcome, I would appeel to them to put their heart at ease.

TAM YTU-CHTUNG :

The issue had clouted IX people for quite a long time and finally being solved by the two Governments at the very senior leval. Looking at the agreement, I feel it is Arasonable and it marks a now beginning xid of a new era fox British Chinese cooperation, which is good for W. The contents of the agreement xx are reasonable, I think it is acceptable to HK people, because it is in line with the Joint Declaration without affecting the administrative power of the HK Goverment.

I think after the siging of the agtisement, HK people need to know more about the project of the airport, give more infometion to the public, I also hope that there would be more representatives from the grassroota in the consultative committę.
