1. Since I doubt whether we have heard the last of Gordon Wu's involvement in this project, or of his criticisms of Government plans, it may be useful for you to have on your files copies of two papers which he gave me when I called on him on 26 April. The first is a chronology of events from 1986 to 1989 which Hopewell believe shows them to have been wronged.
The second is a record of a meeting with Sir Percy Craddock and John Wybrew at 10 Downing Street on 4 July 1987. Gordon Wu and Stewart Elliott cite this meeting as demonstrating the interest in and support for their proposals once shown by British officialdom which they now believe to be lacking.
