SITE PREPARATION CONTRACT
NOTICE OF PREQUALIFICATION OF TENDERERS
i. The Provisional Airport Authority proposes to invite tenders in June 1991 from prequalified contractors for the Site Preparation Contract for Hong Kong's New Airport at Chek Lap Kok.
2. The Site Preparation Contract is to form a site of about 1200 ha. for the New Airport of Hong Kong. The works comprise dredging and disposal off site of up to about 70 million cubic metres of marine deposits, excavation of about 85 million bank cubic metres of shot rock and overburden fill from Chek Lap Kok and Lam Chau Islands, winning about 60 million cubic metres of sand from marine borrow areas, and placing of the filling material from both the land and inarine sources to the reclamation areas.
3. Contractors with substantial experience in dredging and excavation are

A deposit of HK$25,000 will be required before the prequalification documents are issued. This will be returned, without interest, if the completed and submitted prequalification submission is, in the sole opinion of the Provisional Airport Authority, a bona fide one. The deposit shall be in the form of bank draft made out to the Provisional Airport Authority.
Completed prequalification submissions shall be submitted as directed not later than 12:00 noon on 3rd May 1991.
4. Joint ventures with other firms will be considered.
5. The Provisional Airport Authority reserves the right to reject any
contractor's application at its discretion and without explanation.
