HONG KONG: NEW AIRPORT: DISCUSSIONS WITH THE CHINESE
1.
The Secretary of State has asked for an update on our
recent problems with the Chinese over the new Hong Kong
airport.
2. The Chinese have stressed for sometime the importance
they attach in the second half of the transitional period to
closer consultation on major issues affecting Hong Kong.
