Hong Kong Sewage Strategy (1990 to date)
Schroders is advising the Hong Kong Government on the financial and institutional aspects of implementing a US$2 billion works programme to improve Hong Kong's wastewater treatment and disposal system.
Lantau Fixed Crossing (1989 to date)
Schroders has been appointed by Anglo Japanese Construction Limited, a joint venture formed by Trafalgar House Plc, Costain Group Plc and Mitsui & Company Ltd, to prepare the financial proposal to bid for the Lantau Fixed Crossing ("LFC"). LFC is the most important infrastructure component of the Hong Kong new airport development and will be the longest single span bridge in the world after completion.
Hong Kong Port and Airport Development (1988 to 1989)
Schroders was appointed by the Hong Kong Government, Finance Branch, to assess the scope for private financing and operation of a new port development, a new airport and related infrastructure. The assignment included specification of the necessary financial and institutional arrangements.
Hung Hom Bay Development (1987)
In March 1987 Schroders was appointed to advise the Hong Kong Government on the financial feasibility of proposals submitted by the Kowloon Canton Railway Corporation for a freight yard development on land currently being reclaimed at Hung Hom Bay.
Eastern Harbour Crossing (1985)
Schroders advised the Hong Kong Government on the assessment of proposals for a second road and rail crossing under Hong Kong's harbour.
Schroders' role included establishing the basis for comparison of road and rail schemes, setting the financial evaluation criteria and assessing the credibility of financing proposals. These aspects had to be incorporated within the overall aim of minimising government fiscal and regulatory participation, while achieving a maximum return on the project.
