It was my pleasure to meet you in the course of your visit to Kong Kong. Thank you for coming to see me, and for a lively and wide-ranging discussion. I appreciated the opportunity to talk with you on subjects of mutual interest and concern.
With The Bank of East Asia now established in London on Shaftesbury Avenue, and my personal commitments to the International Boards of Thorn EMI, Rolls Royce plc. and S.G. Warburg, (as well as being Father of two teenage Boys now in their fifth year at Winchester College!) I do visit London as frequently as my schedule permits. I do hope to have the pleasure of seeing you again in london, or certainly on your next visit to Hong Kong, when I invite you to be my guest over dinner or luncheon, as your time permits.
On 16th September, I spoke in London on the subject of "Hong Kong's Future as an International Financial Centre" at the Smith New Court plc., conference on Hong Kong which was held at Claridges. I am enclosing herewith a copy of that speech, together with a copy of my speech delivered on 30th October in the Legislative Council here in my capacity as Representative of the Financial Constituency in response to the Governor's Address. I thought these speeches might be of interest to you.
