PRIME MINISTER'S VISIT TO HONG KONG: LETTER FROM LORD YOUNG
1. I submit a short draft reply from the Secretary of State to Lord Young's letter on the importance to Cable and Wireless of the franchises which their subsidiary, Hong Kong Telecommunications, has in Hong Kong.
2. As requested we have asked Hong Kong to give us a note on their policies for developing the telecommunications, television and cable TV sectors, pulling the threads together. When we receive this we shall submit further on the issues, with a draft letter to the Governor.
