Thank you for your letter of 1' September to Douglas Hurd about depositors with BCC (HK).

I am glad that you found your trip to Hong Kong useful. I know that the Hong Kong Government are very keen to find a suitable buyer for BCC (HK) and are working hard for this.

Both John Major and Douglas Hurd were briefed on this issue, and I am sure they will be taking a keen interest in events when they are in Hong Kong later this week.
