overall resources that we devote to out-of-area

activities is well worth the dividends earned in

terms of national security and standing, as well

as international stability.

proposed to force deployments out of area as part

of the current Options for Change review this

and full consultation between the FCO and MOD at

all times. This is especially true over the

Belize Garrison and the planned rundown of the

Hong Kong Garrison as well as the related

reduction in the Brigade of Gurkhas.
