Generally speaking the information contained on a visit form A, which forms the basis of our Background Note, is not consider ed confidential. Though it is not usual, from time to time a visitor sees the Background Note that has been issued.
If there is any information that is for background only and should not be made public, it should be clearly stated. The importance of accurate and detailed briefing from posts cannot be emphasised enough; it makes all the difference to the success of a visit and could affect future quota allocations.
RELOCATION OF OVIS
13. The Overseas Visitors Section is presently located in Cornwall House but hopes to move to 20 Victoria Street in May. A circular will be issued when the move takes place. In the meantime, please note that Michael Dibben, Roy Wilson and Roger Holtum all left some time ago and correspondence addressed to them runs a serious risk of going astray.
