Dear Concerned Member of the Community
No one has to tell you of the great challenges that lie ahead for the people of Hong Kong.
But, if you believe as we do in the Joint Declaration's concept of "one country, two systems" and "Hong Kong people administering Hong Kong with a high degree of autonomy", then now is the time to unite and act together.
The United Democrats of Hong Kong brings together people from different sectors of the community.dedicated to the welfare of Hong Kong. We believe that freedom, democracy, the rule of law and social justice are fundamental rights vital to our com- munity. We shall endeavour to promote and safeguard these rights in order to achieve stability, prosperity and progress, through active participation in public affairs and particularly in elections.
We are asking you to join our cause.
Only by uniting together will we be able to provide a rallying point with the vision and determination to ensure that Hong Kong has an effective administration and a positive voice in national affairs affecting the territory's interests.
We have ambitious plans for the coming years starting with our Inauguration Convention on April 7-8, our Inauguration Reception on April 23 at the City Hall, and most importantly, our participation in the 1991 elections.
To succeed, we need your financial support. And remember, united we stand.
