(6) The opened and unopened ballot boxes, the ballot papers, the unused ballot papers, the spoilt ballot papers, any tendered ballot papers, any ballot paper accounts and any verifications thereof and any other relevant election materials referred to in subregulation (5) shall remain in the charge of the returning officer (who shall be responsible for the safety and security of the same) until the counting of the votes in respect of an adjourned count commences.
46B.
Adjournment of count at counting station in respect of a single functional constituency
(1) If at any time during the counting of the votes in
respect of an election ("relevant election") under section 3 (1)
or (11)(1) of the Ordinance the returning officer appointed for a functional constituency is of the opinion that the count or
any re-count, as the case may be, ("original count") at the
counting station designated in respect of his functional constituency
(a) is being interrupted, obstructed, disrupted,
undermined or seriously affected by riot, open
violence, typhoon or some other climatic
conditions of a serious nature of by any other
like cause; or
(b)
is likely to be disrupted, undermined or
seriously affected by the occurrence of a
typhoon or some other climatic conditions of a
serious nature, of by some other natural
emergency or catastrophe that has already arisen
or is likely to arise during that count at that
counting station,
