How much of His in
telling ME's representatives what they went to hear,
I wonder?
Just to round off the picture, and as a follow up to my letter of 30 September, I am now enclosing extracts from the District Officer reports from the Hong Kong Island and Kowloon Districts about local reactions to the list of LegCo appointments.
With the lapse of time, the subject featured less prominently in District Officer reports last week compared with the week before. Nevertheless, the
general pattern is the same: criticism of the United Democrats for trying to push their influence too hard, plus general acceptance to welcome of the appointments, despite some comment on those appointed not being particularly well known or not sufficiently
representative of this or that section of the community.
