BACKGROUND

Mr Teddy Taylor MP (Conservative, Southend East), biography

attached, has not asked a question on Hong Kong before. He

supported Enoch Powell's campaign against further coloured

immigration in April 1968, and he presumably wishes to establish the

extent to which Hong Kong Chinese are emigrating to settle in the UK

and the EC.

2. His recent questions have focussed on European issues and

sanctions against South Africa.
