Main Points

Visas for Czechoslovakia and Hungary crumbling with scant regard for co-ordinated approach formerly agreed, little interest in, and no apparent enthusiasm for, abolishing visas for Poland.

Privately

Asylum: Publicly the Danes canvassed a pan-EC decision making body (not supported by the United Kingdom). they thought that their Parliament would eventually be won round to signature. The Presidency will finalise questionnaire.

Trevi borders group: opposition emerged to the French proposal, unopposed except by the United Kingdom at Co- ordinators on 25 May. It will go to Co-ordinators again on 23 July.

Hong Kong: the United Kingdom promised a paper to explain present and future proposed arrangements. (No general interest in a local Spanish difficulty which we should pursue with Hong Kong Government. B2 will lead).
