We are now working on the consolidated listings and the first of these are enclosed with this fax. They cover:

a) a list of 141 companies incorporated in the UK;

b) a list of 258 companies incorporated in Hong Kong either wholly or at least 50% owned by companies referred in a) above.

Whenever possible we have listed the percentage shareholdings but for those few companies where this information has been left out, whereas we will continue to try and obtain accurate information we have found it difficult to date and would therefore be extremely grateful if you could contact parent companies in the UK where the information will hopefully be more readily available.

Our next listings will cover the residual companies and large organisations such as Swires and Jardines where we will provide details of the criteria used to approve them.

On to more mundane matters, I am also enclosing with this fax a letter from Rieter-Scragg, giving details of their UK parent which I hope will help clarify matters. As regards Seatrade, it now transpires they are a wholly owned subsidiary of the Seatrade Organisation, who are incorporated in the UK.

Finally, you are right in your assumption that all the John Swire companies have now been submitted. Their complete list will follow shortly.
