On the other hand, if you consider that you have sufficient documentary evidence to prove your claim of birth in Hong Kong, you may apply for consent to post-register your birth at the Births and Deaths Registry of the Immigration Department. For your reference, guidance leaflet is enclosed. In the event that your application for post-registration of birth is approved, that is to say, your claim to birth in Hong Kong is established, you would be a British Dependent Territories citizen by birth and you would then be eligible for the issue of a British passport.
