Further to the
Governor's telno. 2996 of 11 October 1990, I am faxing a draft of the General Guide to the British Nationality Scheme for your information. We intend to make aailable the Guide to the press on 15 October after the draft Order has been laid before Parliament. The main purpose is to explain the Order in layman terms to the press so as to avoid any misunderstanding of the selection scheme. The Guide is not finalised yet, as we are making further effort to polish it, but no changes of substance should be made.
The reference manuals soon as they are available.
