WHAT OCCUPATIONAL GROUPS WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY
As set out in the Explanatory Memorandum, some
36,000 passports will be allocated under the
General Allocation Section. Seven occupational categories will be eligible to apply under this
section. These are
Business and Management
Accounts
Engineering
Information Services
Medical and Sciences
Legal .
Education

- Those with technical skills and professional
qualifications who do not fall within any of these occupational categories may also be eligible to apply occupations specified under the residual category in the General Allocation Section.
- In addition, a further 500 passports will be
reserved for key entrepreneurs, 7,000 for the disciplined services and some 6,000 for those in
sensitive services who might find themselves
vulnerable in the years ahead.
