1. Mr Maude will be in Paris from 30 May 1 June where, in addition to an OECD Ministerial on 31 May, he will have talks with Mme Cresson (Minister for EC Affairs) and with opposition MPs on EC issues and on Vietnamese Boat People and Hong Kong with M Kouchner (State Secretary for Humanitarian Affairs - see Paris telno 288 of 8 March to the FCO).

2. I would be grateful if Hong Kong Department could provide a brief for the meeting with M Kouchner. It should bear the title

"Mr Maude's meeting with M Kouchner, 31 May 1990".
