The Secretary of State has sebeur submisschen Taken 8 January and the comments from Mr Mctar ell and Mi Maude. He commented that we should lobby hard and especially in the United States, with specific reference to the Solarz proposal. You will have heard from Mr French and/or
Mr Haswell about the Secretary of State's discussion with Mr Solarz on 9 January. Mr Solarz repeated the suggestion he had made to Mr Gillmore that a British official might go and give "evidence" to the House committee which is dealing with the Solarz proposal. The Secretary of State said that we had some restrictive rules about this sort of thing but that he was keen to do this if at all possible.
