1. I submit a draft reply from Lord Brabazon to Michael Morris MP's
letter recording his recent visit to Singapore.
2. The draft is only slightly altered from that suggested by
Sir Michael Pike in Singapore telno 044 of 31 January. HKD have been consulted on the point about Singapore's offer of passports to
Hong Kong emigrés.
3. DESO inform me that the reference to Leyland Daf in Mr Morris'
final paragraph concerns a Singapore Armed Forces contract for heavy
duty lorries. The Leyland Daf/Bedford consortium appears to have
lost this business to the European IVECO consortium. There seems no
need for Lord Brabazon to refer to it in his reply.
