(b) When announcing the fare increase, publicity

should

emphasize the consultancy study being

conducted into the management of CMB.

DECISION

The Council ADVISED and the Governor ORDERED

that

-

(a) under section 13 (1) of

Services Ordinance, the

scale, at Annex A to

the Public Bus

proposed fare

the memorandum,

should be approved to take effect on

18 March 1990;

(b)

was

CMB should be advised that this approval

in expectation that interest

accruing from their pension fund would

be applied, with immediate effect, to

the fund rather than to shareholders;

and

(c)

an

in-depth review

of

monopolistic

franchises in

the

transport

sector

should be

undertaken

and a report

submitted to the Governor.
