I enclose a list of questions to be answered by memorandum as a basis for the evidence session on 2 May with Sir Patrick Wright and FCO officials on 1990/91 FCO Supply Estimates. As we arranged, the memorandum should arrive by Friday 20 April, or, if possible, earlier, to allow me to give earlier notice of the line of questioning.
Please note that Question 1 is the question of which I gave you notice in my letter of 6 March.
Visa Policy

Could you provide estimates of visa operation costs and fee receipts, and cost per visa issued, for the last full year for which they are available for each country in which visas were issued?
Running Costs
2. Can you provide a breakdown of Vote 1, A1(1) (centrally controlled running
costs)? What are the reasons for the £21 million increase on last year?
Unallocated Provision
3.
How was the unallocated provision made in last year's estimates (of £1 million in Vote 1 and £2.9 million in Vote 2) allocated during the course of the year?
