JUDICIAL ASSISTANCE TO BRUNEI

1.

I attach a note on Judicial Assistance to Brunei, prepared by the Hong Kong Chief Justice, which the Governor of Hong Kong handed to me during his recent visit.

2. The Governor is keen to resolve the outstanding issues,

and asked what action the FCO was taking. He felt that the Hong Kong Government had done as much as it could and now looks to us to approach the Brunei Government.

3. I pointed out that responsibility for this subject rested with SEAD and undertook to pass you a copy of the

note.
