REQUEST FOR SERVICE OF DOCUMENTS

1. Please refer to Miss Bailes' letter of 24 April 1989 on the serving of legal documents on PRC recipients.

2.

We have since received from you a second bundle of documents for serving, this time on the Shanghai Jing Jiang Shipping Corporation Ltd, under cover of your letter of 12 April 1989 to the Consulate- General in Shanghai. If we tried to serve these documents on the Chinese, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they would undoubtedly reject them again for the same reasons given in Miss Bailes' letter under reference. I am therefore returning them to you so that they can be re-presented to us under cover of a formal request, plus translation, from the Supreme Court of Hong Kong, for service on the defendents.

Yours Sincere' I
