visa free treatment for BN(0)s and BDTCs would help to maintain

confidence in Hong Kong, whereas the ending of visa free treatment

would have the opposite effect. It is the strong hope of Her

Majesty's Government that the Austrian Government will be able to

play its part in bolstering confidence in the territory.

The Department very much hope that they will soon be in a position to discuss with the Austrian Embassy the terms of a revised Visa Abolition Agreement.

Migration and Visa Department of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office avail themselves of this opportunity to renew to the Austrian Embassy the assurance of their highest consideration.
