Dear Miss Tang,
VISA ABOLITION AGREEMENTS BETWEEN HONG KONG AND THIRD COUNTRIES
1. Thank you for your letter of 21 May to Frances Grier, who has now left this department. Your options paper provides a very clear and useful summary of the problem and possible ways forward. I shall now consult other departments and give you our views as soon as possible.
2. Please refer also to Nicola Hancock's letter of 14 February to Judy Ching in Immigration Department. I understand that, following a visit to Hong Kong by Alan Montgomery, Head of our Migration and Visa Department, the departments concerned are now urgently pursuing your request for copies of all existing UK YAAS. I hope these will reach you soon. We shall continue to press from this end.
