Dear Miss Jones

Thank you for your fax of 11 October about the Commonwealth war graves in Hong Kong.

There has been no progress towards a War Graves Agreement. We cannot forecast when such progress is likely to be made, except that it could take a very considerable time. Meanwhile, we have no reason to doubt that satisfactory arrangements will be made for the care and maintenance of Commonwealth war graves after 1997.
