Government's
decision to finance the Lantau Fixed Crossing itself was generally well received. However, the Chinese reaction to the decision and overall attitude towards PADS continues to cause uncertainty amongst the public, particularly over the affordability of the project as a The briefing of Chinese experts, and recent speeches by senior officials in the Legislative Council, has allayed some of this uncertainty.
