contracts. I mentioned to Mr Yang Youyong on 4
October that this pre-qualification exercise
would take place in November.
Various public notices will also be issuing within the
coming months relating to the acquisition of land
needed for the airport core projects. I should, in
this regard, like to draw your attention to -

Che Issue, on 10 November, or a Gazette Notice
announcing the Government's rejection of
objections received in response to the original
Gazette Notice issued under the Foreshore and
Sea-bed (Reclamation) ordinance on 29 December
1989, which announced the Government's intention
to reclaim land required for the First Stage
Auvaliced works at Chek Lap Kok; and the
Government's consequent authorisation of that
