It is proposed to relocate the temple, in due course, at the future Chek Lap Kok Village Resite Area, wherever that might be.
Environmental Matters
Inevitably the development, construction and operation of the new Airport will have a major impact on the environment. Environmental Impact Assessment Studies will be carried out before the start of work, to consider noise, water pollution, and air pollution matters. Efforts will be made to minimise the nuisance caused to local people during both construction and operation stages of Airport development.
(H) Land Compensation Rates
As you may be aware, the New Territories of Hong Kong are split into 4 separate zones for the assessment ex-gratia compensation to be offered upon resumption of private land. The Tung Chung and Chek Lap Kok areas are currently zoned category D, which is the lowest compensation zone. As the development now proposed is of the nature of urban development, my office is currently drafting a submission to Government, to upgrade the zoning and thus increase the ex-gratia compensation that can be offered.
I have tried in the above paragraphs to cover most of the items discussed in our meeting. It is inevitable that you may have further queries on these and
these and other clearance matters. The following list of contact persons and telephone numbers are provided to enable you to have direct contact with the relevant authorities :
